There has been an influx of left feet to the CLG Naomh Padraig GAA clubhouse in recent weeks. Thankfully they’re not the feet that play on the said pitch. No, this is left feet of a very different kind. The kind that is Strictlyattempting to do ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
Daniel O’Donnell proved last year that even with two left feet, one really can take to the dancefloor. And 30 people from the local community are setting out to prove that they will have a dancing ‘left’ foot and a dancing ‘right’ foot come Easter Sunday night 2016.

Sunday 27th March at the Plaza Buncrana will showcase just how successful these folk have been. Can they really pull it off? Time will tell.
But all joking and ‘left feet’ aside, this is of course all in the honour of raising much needed funds for the local GAA. Short term, the funds raised from this event will go towards underage activities at the club. Long term goals will include the building of a Sports Centre and the transformation of the current all-weather pitch into an astro pitch. As always money is at the fore. Support for this forthcoming event will help CLG Naomh Padraig GAA club get on their way to achieving these goals.

In the build up to raising this money however, a number of people from the community will of course be dancing their way to the Plaza floor. There’s approximately 8 weeks to get the dancing shoes polished and maybe more importantly, the dancing legs, feet and bodies polished. I really don’t envy the dance teachers their job. It will be a long road for them but I’m sure there will be manys a laugh and most likely even more tumbles, along the way.
There is a host of characters in this dancing bunch and they will all be revealed over the coming weeks.
CLG Naomh Padraig GAA Strictly Come Dancing will be officially launched on February 24th where the dancing faces will all be exposed!DSC_8797
Tickets will go on sale for the event in the not too distant future and will be priced at €15. These will initially be available from the dancers themselves and later from the club.
