Blowins In The Wind

A 5-Piece international Dylan band will play Stuck Inside of Moville for the first time.

They have been wanting to play for the last two years and now they get their opportunity.

The members of the band come from Kaiserslautern in Germany, Dublin, Cork and Belfast and operate out of Sligo.

The band was formed in February 2011 and marked Bob Dylan’s 70th birthday on May 24th 2011 with an inaugural gig in McGarrigles at the Sligo Short Film Festival Club.

Named after one of Dylan’s most iconic songs, all the band members are Blowins to the small village of Grange in North Sligo.

Dylan Catalogue

Said band member, Hans Wieland, “The line-up as a 5-piece band with drums, bass, keyboards, acoustic and electric guitar, harmonica and with three vocalists sharing singing duties and harmonies enables Blowins in the Wind to play the song catalogue of Dylan without limits.

“The musicians don’t see themselves as “just a covers band”, their aim is to interpret and celebrate the music of Dylan in their own style in the same way as Dylan hardly plays his songs twice ever-changing the rhythm and style of his songs.”

Sligo Following

Over the last years Blowins in the Wind have built a loyal following in and around Sligo, performing in various music venues and as part of various Sligo music festivals. They have also been hired for intimate events like birthdays and weddings.

The band perform a lively set and regularly has people on the dance floor or singing along.

They will appear at The Clock on the Saturday Night of the DylanFest and in Annie’s Bar at 4pm on Sunday afternoon.

It should be a great opportunity for DylanFest goers to see a full band and get the full sound.
