Putting Green Cafe

Moville’s Putting Green Cafe won’t open this year.

The couple who ran it successfully have opened their own cafe in Derry, called the Coffee Tree, and won’t have time to run the Putting Green Cafe.

It’s a great shame.

The Putting green itself, and the Crazy Golf had been shut for something like 15 years.

Movillians were beginning to think they wouldn’t see them again.

But when it opened up again it was even better than before.

The Putting Green Cafe was an addition to the putting and crazy golf.

Cream Tea and a View of the Lough

So many Movillians and visitors enjoyed a view of the lough whilst having a cream tea or a piece of chocolate cake.

It was especially good for mothers of young children.

The children could play crazy golf whilst the mothers had a chat and a cup of coffee with a view of the lough while still looking after their children.

It was very popular on a sunny day.

Even if the sun does come out for a spell this year there won’t be the option of going down the cafe.

Donegal Council

It is likely that it will open next year.

Donegal Council are asking people who are interested in running it to contact them.

They must go through a process, though, which means that there would not be the time to open it this year.

By the time the process is complete this year’s season will be over.

Hopefully it will be open again next year with new management.

It’s just shame it won’t be open this year.
