Moville Lighthouse Swim

It’s become one of the major events in Moville’s calendar, now, the Swim to the lighthouse and back.

It has provided great entertainment and a great spectacle.

Last year a pod of dolphins joined in the swim just as the swimmers reached the lighthouse.

Indeed one of the swimmers said that the first thing she saw was a fin very close to her.

However, when she saw a couple of other female swimmers laughing she realised it was a dolphin rather than what she thought it was.

It added to the merriment of the occasion.

Lots of Swimmers

They have an astonishing 59 swimmers registered for the Moville Lighthouse Swim this year.

It has been growing in recent years but this is an astonishing leap forward.

They are hoping for 100 swimmers eventually and it should not be too many years before they reach that.

Moville Lighthouse Swim Registration

There’s still time to register this year if you fancy it.

This year they have teamed up with Camlough Lake Water Festival (CLWF) who have previously co-ordinated seven swims, including the Moville Lighthouse Swim, around the North East of Ireland this year.

If you want to register to swim this year, there is still time.
