History was made at Maginn Park, Buncrana this afternoon when Inishowen lifted the Oscar Traynor Cup 2015. Defeating Limerick by 2 goals to 1, it was a tough fought match throughout.
Inishowen Academy is showcasing our local footballing talent at it’s best. Just yesterday another all Ireland championship was won by the U15 squad. Last year the U16 squad made history bringing the SFAI trophy home to Inishowen for the first time.
So it really is proving a rewarding and successful time for the academy.
I’m sure no one will dispute me in that the following photograph showcases all that is Inishowen academy. For me it certainly is the pic of today. What an absolute delight to see Diarmuid O’Brien lift this trophy in the academy home ground of Maginn this afternoon. This is one man who serves the academy and all our youth so well. Congrats Diarmuid and all the gang.

The squad played their best on that pitch earlier today and the team really came together to give the large crowd what they wanted…an intense and breathtaking game. I know my heart was in my mouth near the end! Lots of congrats to all the QPS players and team who are part of the squad.
