Busker Abu | Spring Tides play Trawlerman before TV Gig
Spring Tides
Spring Tides have re-formed to appear on Busker Abu, the TG4 programme which is looking to find the best buskers in Ireland.
They will be recording their bit at the RTE studios in Dublin on Monday evening at 7:15pm.
They face 7 other acts and only one gets through to the semi finals – so it will be tough.
They are good enough, though. If they go all the way they will get a €1,500 prize.
If they bring the same excitement to RTE’s studios as they bring to their gigs in Moville, they have a great chance.
They will also get the attention of record producers and those who want to book acts.
Spring Tides Bus
It seems that there is a busload of them going to Dublin and they are catching a bus outside The Trawlerman.
They have to sing a cover song lasting two minutes. If the judges don’t like it they can stop them after 90 seconds.
Busker Abu airs at 8:30pm every Sunday night from March 1st.
Said James O’Donnell of Spring Tides “We’ll be playing Blister in the Sun by the Violent Femmes. We have to do a cover for the first round.”
Ten Heats of Busker Abu
There will be ten heats followed by a semi and a final so there will be 10 shows altogether each Sunday night.
Five of the shows have already been recorded.
If you want to catch the re-formed Spring Tides before they set off on their great adventure, you can catch them at The Trawlerman on Saturday night.
The other act from Moville who is going to be on Busker Abu, Debbie and Geraldine, who record in Dublin next Wednesday, you can catch them at Rosatos on Saturday night to wave them off and wish them well.
