‘Buncrana Gets Interruped By A Flashmob’
Buncrana played host to a spontaneous eruption of dancing on Tuesday as a ‘Flash Mob’ broke out in the Supervalu supermarket.
members of the public were caught unawares as the performance, opened by Scoil Mhuire student Keri Kelly, spread throughout Supervalu
The event was organised by  Young Social Innovators in Transition Year, Scoil Mhuire, who have taken on the task of raising awareness about disability.
The class, advised and helped by teacher Veronica Buchanan, first came up with the idea of raising awareness following a survey they carried out, which showed the need for a greater education and more information on disability.
It was organised in a very short space of time, and it involved the YSI class, pupils from Scoil Iosagain, teachers, members from the local dance schools, the Supervalu staff
It marked the launch of the new info leaflet they have produced, which shows the correct terms and etiquette to use when either referring to disability, or talking to someone who has a disability. The leaflet will be available in a number of public places in the local area, such as the clinic .
