Donegal 3-Bedroom Houses Fall from €215,000 to €75,000
Donegal House Prices
The price of a 3-bedroom house in Donegal has fallen by 63.4% since the peak of the boom in 2007.
So, in just over 7 years, the price of an average 3-bedroom price in Donegal has fallen from €215,000 to a lowly 75,000.
Who would have thought it, in the glorious days of the boom, that house prices could have fallen so much.
Moville Worse
That’s Donegal as a whole.
It’s likely to be much worse in Moville where a 3-story town house between the Cleaners and the Corner Bar went for just €48,500 at auction recently.
That’s just £37,00 in sterling terms (40% of CraicOn’s audience is outside Ireland with most in the UK).
Moville Businesses
Many of Moville’s businesses have gone for prices of 5% to 15% of their boom price values. Indeed they were looking for €1.8m for the Caiseal Mara even after it went into receivership a few years ago.
The good news is that in the final quarter of last year, house prices in Donegal were static.
Maybe they will be on the way back up soon, again.
Maybe!
