Last night saw the second annual Christmas Party in the Squealing Pig Muff. Last year the tradition was born and it proved a huge success. Sometimes when an occasion is such a success it can be hard to follow it. But last night proved that this now annual party is indeed deemed for village life in Muff on a yearly basis from here on.
The villagers flocked to the lounge of the Squealing Pig from 10pm and Route ’66 took to the stage.
These guys played until the wee hours and had something for everyone. From the QPS lads out on their annual outing to the Resource Centre gang on theirs. Route ’66 played Razorlight, Thin Lizzy, Snow Patrol, Horslips and many more. The music was first class in every way (I shan’t mention the Wagonwheel word…oops I just did). Jessica Atcheson took to the stage and gave an outstanding performance of an Amy Winehouse classic and one could have shut their eyes and believed Amy was singing it herself.
The Christmas Jumper competition was at the fore of the night and many congratulations to Myra McColgan on her winning ensemble.
Golly G took to dancing on the bar stool as the Horslips’s ‘Trouble’ was beating from Route ’66.
Young and not so young danced the night away and as always the ‘Pig’ staff served with a smile on their face (it may have been a forced smile at 2am, but it was still there!)
Christmas is now finally underway in the village and no doubt there’ll be more shenanigans in the Squealing Pig before the festive season is out!
