Falcor the Magnificent

It’s great to see a 5-piece band playing in Moville – never mind on a Friday night, but that’s what happened last night in The Clock in the main square in Moville when Falcor played there.

The crowd was small to start with, as you would expect on a Friday night in the first half of December, but it grew as the night went on.

In the end it was almost like the Town Clock of old as the girls, inspired by the music, got up to dance and the guys joined them.

The Falcor Team

Falcor are comprised of Shane McGonagle, Paul Bredin, Cathal Kelly (the proprietor), James McIvor and James McDonald.

They gave a great performance.

It would be great to see them again.

James McIvor even surprised the audience by giving a great rendition of Slade’s Christmas song “Ah here it is Merry Christmas, everybody’s having fun…….”- and so they were.

He out-Noddied Noddy Holder.

The Sultans of Swing

There will be more live music tonight in The Clock with a great four-piece band, The Sultans, comprising some great musicians in David Casey, Egon Callery,Frank Fiorentini and McGonagle the manic drummer.

After seeing them last Saturday night Paddy the Shoe said “that’s a proper band. I’ll be back next week”.

He wouldn’t have far to go. They could probably just tap the wall when it was time to start.

It was a great first night of the weekend in The Clock and it should be great tonight too.
