Earlier this evening Santa arrived in style at his new Grotto in Muff Community Park. He was chauffeur driven in a classic vintage car.

The Muff Youth Accordion band played Christmas carols on his arrival. Young and old were out in force to welcome the man in the red suit to Muff tonight.

Santa’s sleigh awaited him outside his Grotto (Jim even wiped the seat dry!). Santa then took pride of place on his sleigh and waved and shook hands with all.

Whilst the children got excited with Santa’s arrival, some of the mothers took advantage of the chimney fire and warmed their frozen toes by it!

Santa then proceeded to his newly formed Grotto and took rest on his awaiting chair. No doubt he will be busy from this seat over the coming days. The Grotto looks amazing and credit must surely go to all involved in the preparation of such.

Father Farren very kindly blessed the Grotto and prayed that Santa would find all the houses in the area on Christmas Eve. Here’s hoping he manages to find mine too!!
Santa will be resident in his Grotto at various times over the coming week. He will depart on Sunday December 21st. So whether you’re a young child or maybe an adult who has a child yearning to escape inside, this is one Grotto that is well worth a visit over the coming week. The Community Park has hosted many events over the past year and like all the others, this one doesn’t disappoint. It has been a huge asset to the local community and tonight showcased just how big an asset it really is. Supporting this Park is essential. Please do bring the kids along and see just what a magical experience it really is.
