Well, I’ve been told that country music is pretty popular here and that Johnny Cash is really popular. I’ve also been told that Dolly Parton is popular and an icon to young women.

That’s why I agreed to do a country weekend even though I don’t like much country music.

It’s Parton with Cash – but mainly Cash.

On the first night, (Friday) we started off with Paddy the Shoe in Rawdons. He’ll be changing his normal act to play a whole load of John Cash songs. It seems he can do around 15 – which is plenty.

Tonight (Saturday) we have a mystery Johnny Cash Tribute Acts whose names hasn’t been shared with me as yet.

The brilliant Debbie and Geraldine will be in Annie’s.

Michael Douglas, who knows a whole load of Johnny Cash will be playing the Redcastle Hotel Bar.

Up in the Sean Ti there will be a wonderful set from Melissa and Kevin. Melissa can do 5/6 Dolly Parton songs so if you like Dolly that will be the place to be.

On Sunday early evening 7pm to 9pm, Amanda’s two sisters will be playing in Annie’s and Paddy the Shoe will be playing at the Redcastle Hotel Bar.

Melissa will be accompanied this time by James in Rosatos on Sunday night.

It sounds a good weekend. Maybe I’ll even go and watch some of the acts.
