Best Crowd

It was probably the best ever first night crowd in Rosatos for the first night of Stuck Inside of Moville, the DylanFest on the Lough 2014.

The crowd was delighted to hear Al Diesan play again in Rosatos. He started early and played song after song. It was a great night. Al hasn’t lost anything since last year. If anything, he has improved.

Every song was clapped loudly by the crowd and they roared their approval at some of the songs and sang along with some too.

Reunion

The first night is always good as it is almost like a reunion with people you haven’t seen since last year there.

Introduced to the crowd was Bobby Does Dylan who will be performing his Dylan Unplugged sound and lighting show with spotlights etc. in St Eugene’s Hall from 8pm to 10pm tonight and Saturday night. Tickets, €7 for adults and €4 for children under 14, are for sale in Gillen’s Shop and Rosatos Bar or can be bought at the door.

Riccardo DeLussu

Also there, for the very first time, was Riccardo DeLussu, who also hails from Cagliari in Sardinia.

He. like Mickey the Hat will be playing during Jacques Mees’s breaks tonight. Jacques does 4 half hour sets and they will play during those breaks.

Anyone who wants to see Al play again (and there must be many) or to see him for the first time, can catch him play at the bar at the Redcastle Hotel tonight. Guests there are in for a treat.

Jacques Mees

Those who go to Rosatos will be able to catch Jacques Mees for the first time since his loudly acclaimed performances in 2011. This is the first time we have managed to get him back since.

Jacques finished 3rd in a worldwide contest on Dylan Radio to find the best Dylan acts in the world. Over a hundred acts entered and Jacques lost to the eventual winner in the semis but won the 3rd place playoff.

Paddy the Shoe, the Moville man who brought up two generations of Dylan fans in Moville, and who inspired the DylanFest in Moville, will be playing in Rawdons.

Wherever you go tonight it will be a bit special.
