Tonight saw the 21st annual John Lynch Perpetual Shield cycle. As always there was a huge turnout for the event. The cycle took off from the Squealing Pig in Muff and Rawdons Bar Moville simultaneously at 7.15pm. There was of course the usual suspects mingled in with the serious cyclists and a host of family and friends of the Lynch family and the Grant family from Muff. Tonights event was raising monies for the Foyle Hospice, the Donegal Hospice and local girl Caraiosa Grant who is suffering with leukemia. dsc_7484
Little Caraiose came along to wave the cyclists off on her fabulous new bicycle. A little gem she surely is! Here’s wishing Caraiosa the very best with her ongoing treatment x.
The gang from Muff met the Moville crew around Quigleys Point and again on the return journey. On arrival in Moville the Muff folk were welcomed into Rawdons where sandwiches were provided and a few select lads enjoyed a pint of their favourite tipple!! And it was off on the return trip to Muff shortly after. dsc_7537
A bbq, fun and banter is currently underway in the Squealing Pig. No doubt something similar is happening in Moville.
This cycle is held in memory of John Lynch, and his family and the local community remember this much loved man on this occasion each year. Monies are raised for these very worthy causes and the generosity of people is evident as each year goes by. Here’s to many more years of the cycling and building more memories with each one!dsc_7474
