Today President Higgins sent us a Certificate
Brown Envelope
I got a large brown envelope through the post today from the President.
One is a little suspicious of brown envelopes where politicians are concerned but it turned out to be a certificate for the Beatles and DylanFest for their part in the Gathering.
There’s also another certificate from the County Manager, Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
Letter
However, what really took me was the accompanying letter which said that the website on which the two festivals featured reached 150,000 views from a worldwide audience.
That’s pretty good and well worthwhile doing, I thought.
However, I was even more pleased that CraicOn beat it by more than 100,000 views.
Indeed CraicOn had more than 150,000 views from Ireland alone and another 100,000 from outside Ireland, mainly from the UK.
Takeoff
This is not to denigrate at all the Donegal Gathering website for which we are grateful but more to be pleased at how well CraicOn has taken off, especially since Grainne joined a year ago.
I can always tell when she’s loaded an article as there is a sudden surge in Views.
We’d like to expand to other towns as well so if you can write, and know the craic that is going on in your area, get in touch at [email protected]
CraicOn has been read in 118 countries in the last year. We’ve only listed those countries with more than 100 or more views.
