Just this evening we have had the privilege of welcoming the dreaded ‘Storm Darwin’! We’ve been listening to the news and forecasts all day and hearing about the damage and hazardous conditions in Cork and the South West since early morning. Devastation is the word coming from that part of the country.

And now we are seeing the tail end of dear Darwin. And even that is proving pretty powerful. The winds are howling and the rain is beating down at present. Surely no one feels totally secure with such weather.

So unless one has to leave the house, it might be a wise move to stay indoors for tonight. Winds of up to 110mph have been reported off the coast of Cork. Almost strong enough to blow our wee village away. So stay safe one and all. Let’s weather this storm together!
