Farewell music night for James O'Donnell in Sean Ti
Spring Tides
He was the driving force behind the sensational Spring Tides. James O’Donnell writes his own songs of high quality some of them being sung by Spring Tides, e.g. Like A Cow.
He comes and he goes as he is often at sea. It’s all-action when he comes home – and then he is gone again. He does 7 weeks here and 7 weeks at sea.
As he is going away next week the Sean Ti are doing a Farewell James Songwriter night. The singers will do a mixture of cover songs and originals.
Originals and Covers
James will be playing some of his best songs as well as a few covers. He will be joined by Angie McLaughlin of Dublin band, Minnie and The Illywackers, who play every year at the Electric Picnic and are regulars at such Dublin pubs as Whelans and the Mercantile.
Also playing will be Leo McCauley, who, I’m told, is the one of the main musical influences, along with Paddy McLaughlin of the generation of singers and players that came after them.
Martin Moir will be joining them too playing a mixture of his Oasis songs, a Pink Floyd song and some of his own.
Singing Sensation
Coming up from Dublin to play will be American singer, Nicole Braddock, who was a sensation singing and playing at a night in the Sean Ti after her own wedding.
There may be more still to get back to me.
Kevin SeanTi might sing too.
It should be a great night.
Snug Bar
It will kick off in the snug bar with a nice warm fire and with the musicians playing acoustically. If there’s too many people it may move next door but we’ll start in the snug.
If you play or sing come along too. If you spectate and like a nice music night in front of a warm fire come along too.
All are very welcome!
