There's a lot of good young female musical talent around
Young Talent
When Tony Bramwell came over we had a musical talent show for him. He was impressed by the likes of Niamh Creggan from Muff, Jessica Harkin and Laura Bonner from Greencastle as well as the Decibellas, Debbie and Geraldine, who are doing so well now.
My son told me that Eimear Lafferty won the talent contest at his school about a year ago. It seems she’s also very good at Gaelic football and soccer.
Tonight
I see there’s another new female talent playing tonight in Big Ben’s called Colleen Ferns.
Here’s a Youtube video of her singing Nothing
Here’s Jessica Harkin singing her own song Please Don’t Leave Me
Here’s Niamh Creggan singing Valerie
Here’s Laura Bonner singing Roots
There may be other ones that I don’t know about.
Songwriter Night
By the way there is going to be a Songwriter night at the Sean Ti next Saturday night February 1st.
If anyone wants to come and play let me know on [email protected] – or just show up.
There’s a great American singer coming all the way up from Dublin to play.
Obviously if you want to come and watch come along too.
