Music City 2014 is underway…..and Muff is there in force!
Music City kicked off tonight in Derry with outstanding musical performances on stage at The Peace Garden. Hosted by Edith Bowman from BBC Radio 1, it really was yet another night to remember in the city. And how lovely to see such a representation from our wee village there!
No doubt the appearance of ex Westlife star Shane Filan drew a large number of the audience. The Clameens and Little Bear rocked the city and Shane Filan got the crowd squealing for ‘more’. Erica Curran gave an outstanding performance from the Guildhall balcony and a youth choir had everyone’s attention. The night ended with the new video showcasing the City of Culture year ‘Let the River Run’ with singing from Mairead Carlin and Damian McGinty, and the virtual rainbow lighting the Derry skyline.
The legacy of 2013 is certainly growing in strength and this Music City year is certain to draw more music and crowds to Derry. Muff is very lucky to be just next door and it’s people are readily available to make the short trek into town and avail of all that Derry will have to offer.
