A Night of the Clancy’s in St Eugene’s Hall
The Clancy Brothers
The Crooked Jacks will be putting on a Night of the Clancy’s in St. Eugene’s Hall. It will take place at 8pm on Saturday the 22nd of February.
They will sing all the favourite Clancy Brothers songs.
It is for one night only and the tickets will cost €15. Concessionary tickets are €12.
They can be bought at Gillen’s.
Dylan Influences
The Clancy Brothers were major influences on Bob Dylan. Indeed Dylan said that Liam Clancy was the best ballad singer that he had ever heard.
When Dylan first left Hibbing in Minnesota to come to New York’s Greenwich Village, Liam Clancy took him under his wing and showed him around and played music with him.
They were great friends and they admired each other’s work.
Tickets at St. Eugene’s Hall for the show are limited so get them early. It should be a great night out and then there’s plenty of time to go to the pubs afterwards – as the Clancy’s would have done.
