House Prices

Prices have been falling all over the country since 2007. However, in Dublin they have started to pick up. One would think that, across the rest of the country, falls would be slowing with a pick up coming soon.

However, there was a ferocious drop in the prices of East Inishowen houses last year. The Property Register publishes the sale price of every house sold in Ireland. Every house sold in Moville, Carndonagh, Redcastle, Muff and Greencastle is included in the figures below.

Falling

Here is how much they have fallen on average in the last year.

27% – Moville

30% – Greencastle

36% – Carndonagh

44% – Redcastle

45% – Muff

Buncrana

However, in Buncrana, house prices rose by 10% last year. So why the huge discrepancy between Buncrana and East Inishowen? Why are house prices absolutely plummeting here?

And if they are falling that quickly, what are they going to do this year?
