House Prices on the rise in Buncrana
House Prices
House prices bucked the trend in the rest of Inishowen by rising by almost 10% last year. The number of house prices sales rose considerably too so the auctioneers in Buncrana will be a lot happier than the auctioneers in East Inishowen.
According to the Property Register of all houses sold in Buncrana, 39 houses were sold in Buncrana last year compared to 26 in 2012. That’s a whopping rise of 50%.
The average house price of houses sold in Buncrana in 2013 was €115,000. In 2012 it was€105,00. So that’s a rise of a touch under 10%.
Falls
There were huge falls in house prices in other areas of Inishowen like Moville, Greencastle, Carndonagh, Muff and Redcastle. Indeed the falls were a minimum of 27% in a year with the maximum a fall of 45%.
With Buncrana so close by and part of Inishowen, one wonders why there is such a huge difference with Buncrana house prices climbing and house prices really slumping elsewhere in the peninsula.
