Art Parkinson

Moville boy, Art Parkinson, won an award as a rising star for his work on Dracula Untold and Game of Thrones recently. These awards are given by Cinemagic in their Gala Awards ceremony held in Belfast’s City Hall recently.

There were 500 invited guests which included the Lord Mayor of Derry. Also present was BAFTA Award winning film producer Iain Smith OBE who got a lifetime award from Cinemagic.

It’s good to see the wider world recognising young Art’s talent. He is officially a rising star with a great future on Films and TV – perhaps an eventual successor to Moville’s Ray McInally.

Review of the Year

He appeared on UTV’s Review of the Year which was on from 7pm to 8pm on Sunday 29th December.

At the awards ceremony he gave thanks to his mum who taught him how to act.

He was asked, by the UTV interviewer, if he was treated like a Hollywood star at home. Far from it, it seems. His nother makes him wash the dishes, mop the floor, clean up after the dogs, go to the shop etc.
