Hospital Shops

A new survey has shown that Hospital Shops are charging an excessive amount for the confectionery that they sell. It looked at hospital shops all over Ireland.

Fancy getting a sick relative or friend a box of Milk Tray and a bottle of Lucozade? You can get them at the hospital shop when you get there, you think.

The recommended Retail Price for the Milk Tray is €14. You can pay up to €23.99 at a hospital shop or 10 quid extra.

The RRP for Lucozade is €2.50 for a 1.5 litre bottle. You can pay up to €4.25 at a hospital shop – 70% extra.

This is a survey from all over Ireland and so I don’t know what they charge at local hospitals. I’ll maybe have a look next time I’m there.

Just in case, I think I’ll pop into Gillen’s or Centra before I go there though.
