There were 10 passengers on the Ulsterbus as well as the female driver when masked men got on thee bus. They ordered her to drive to the Strand Road Police Station.

However, the female driver abandoned the bus on Northlands Road and got in touch with the PSNI.

“The fact that she coped so well is no thanks to those behind this calculated malice.

“We are all thankful that we have been spared the horrendous outcome that was intended – thanks to the courage and resilience of this woman in such terrible circumstances.”

Sinn Fein
