I asked Paul Bredin if that great local band The Yetis were playing anywhere in the area for the RocktoberFest weekend. It turns out hey are playing in Derry on the Saturday and don’t have a gig in Moville that weekend. If Tony Bramwell was coming over it was arranged that they would play for him somewhere early on the Friday night. However, Tony couldn’t make it at such short notice as he was doing a lot of work with Paul McCartney.

However, Paul told me (Bredin that is) that The Yetis would be playing at a gig on Saturday (last Saturday) for fellow band member, James McIvor’s family gathering for the Year of the Gathering – for the McGinley family.

Paul ventured that the Taoiseach might be there as he is related to James and it was his family gathering. Paul ventured that as Enda Kenny was the main sponsor of the Year of the Gathering 2013 it would seem funny if he didn’t attend his own.

Paul was right. Enda Kenny and all his family were at the McGinley Clan Gathering at the Blue Haven Hotel just outside Killybegs – and The Yetis played for them. They got chatting to them afterwards. It seems he was quite taken by them and told them so. james got his picture taken with him.

The Yetis have many fans in Moville and the area. Now they can count the head of the Irish Government among them.

Not many Moville acts can say that!
