Songwriter Contest Winner plays Maguires
It was a magical night 18 months ago in the Sean Ti. There were some great songs but most people agreed that The man from Cork, Lawrence Hackett, was a worthy winner with his song When We Do Fall. He hasn’t been back to play here as he has been working in Limerick and now London and he had his baby around a year ago.
However, he feels that it is now time to play Moville again. With Tony Bramwell setting up his own label and looking for talent for it, Lawrence Hackett is delighted to come and play for him. It will be part of a Jamboree afternoon and evening in Maguires on Saturday.
Lawrence will play a 40-45 minute gig in Maguires at 4pm with a mixture of his own songs and Sixties songs including Beatles songs.
This will be followed by an hour with Scotsman Martin Moir who lives locally.
At 6 o’clock, Tony Bramwell will take the stage to tell of his life as Beatles Road Manager and will take questions from the audience afterwards.
Afterwards, anyone that wants to play a few Beatles songs at the Open Mic can do so. It should be a great day.
