Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann ended spectacularly last night with an outstanding performance from Fidget Feets Fire Birds. Ebrington square was filled to capacity and the audience was not disappointed.
Around 10.30 pm the Fire Birds took to the skies of Derry. A colourful and entertaining show followed from the skyline. A circus like spectacle in the air! Drama unfolded on the stage, music played from the highly risen stage and the dancing and traditional music was played from the sky!
For the past 8 days, the streets of Derry have been alive with Irish music, dance, language, culture and song. People have travelled from the four corners of the world to the maiden city. Derry did not disappoint. Many commented that the hospitality they received exceeded all expectation.
Last night, Derry proved just what a first class show the city can provide. Not only did the authentic entertainment deliver, the organisation was second to none.
Fleadh Cheoil came across the border this year for the first time in it’s 62 year history. Legenderry has ensured that it made history in more ways than one!
