Muff Festival 2013, opening parade 7pm tonight!
The Muff Festival 2013, aptly titled ‘The Homecoming’ will get underway later today. The Homecoming Parade will leave St. Mary’s Hall tonight at 7pm. This will be led by the villages newly elected Mayor, Martin McKinney.
The Festival Queen candidates will also help lead the parade. Following them will be the Muff Youth Accordion Band celebrating 30 years and tonight will be including a special gathering of past and present members. A spectacle not to be missed!
The Celine Reddin Memorial Cup will be awarded to the overall Winner of tonight’s opening parade.
Following the parade there will be an outdoor ‘Tweenager’s Disco’ from 8pm unitl 10pm in the Squealin’ Pig car park. So all you young un’s get the glad rags on and come have some fun.
The ‘Muff Festival Queen Competition’ will be held later in the Squealin’ Pig and hosted by Frank Galligan. We eagerly await which lovely young lady will be crowned the prestigious title of this year’s ‘Muff Festival Queen’. Doors will open tonight at 8pm so come early to avoid disappointment. Admission will be €5.
A fun filled weekend is about to get underway and don’t let the rain dampen ones spirits. Have the brollys and wellies at the ready. Time to party in the village!
