A short while ago, Martin McKinney was declared the new ‘Mayor of Muff’. Martin had been raising funds for the Red Cross. His total monies amounted to €5817.20. Martin thanked the local Red Cross in Muff for all their help and also those in Burt and Buncrana who assisted with the recent fundraising.
Very well done to Louise Anthony and Willie Doherty who also raised great amounts of money for the GAA and the local play park, respectively. A very good mayoral campaign was had by all.
Whilst announcing the winners of this years Mayoral results, Mura McLaughlin informed us that to date, the Mayoral campaign over the festival years has to date, raised more than €400,000 towards a variety of charities. A great achievement for such a small village as Muff!
