When she’s not walking the catwalk or playing in the local bars, Niamh Cregan is engaging in chit chat and interviewing Danny O’Donoghue! Just where will this young lady end up? She is currently preparing to sit her Leaving Certificate in June 2014 and still has time to do so much with her young life.

Niamh attended the Radio 1 Academy in Derry’s Nerve Centre earlier this week. The Academy was launched as part of the One Big Weekend coming up very soon in Derry, May 24th – 26th. The Academy is geared towards 16-19 year olds and teaches young people new practical and life skills. The youth attend workshops, showcases, Question and Answer session and various master classes. Niamh says she has learned a lot after spending time with such artists as Wretch 32, Gabrielle Aplin and her idols The Script. ‘Ive been a massive fan of The Script for years and I’ve seen them live four times now. I love them.’ Niamh got to see them in their live lounge performance and then interviewed them after. ‘They were genuinely really lovely guys’. A dream came true for the young Muff girl.

‘This has been a brilliant experience’ Niamh says and ‘I’ve learned so much. This will definitely help me in my future career’.

This young lady is bound to make that future career in the music industry and has already carved a name for herself in the local area. Niamh has played for over two years as a duo with James McDonald. They have recently gone their separate ways and Niamh is now embarking on a solo career. I don’t doubt that great things await this local young lady.
