Stuck Inside of Moville, the DylanFest on the Lough and the BeatlesFest on the Lough have made it onto the Programme of Events for Derry’s City of Culture 2013 along with several other festivals and events in the area. That’s a major coup and a huge boost as the City of Culture is being promoted worldwide and thousands upon thousands will see the programme and the website.

This is a massive opportunity for the festivals and the area to really establish these festivals and make them major annual events. Dylan and the Beatles have millions of fans worldwide so it was always just a case of getting the message out there and letting people know that it is on here.

It’s just a shame that the two hotels in Moville are closed with the loss of 64 hotel rooms. Maybe if the festivals take off it can help to get at least one of them open again. Hopefully the B&Bs and the self catering and hostel will do well out of it.

Now the preparation for the festivals must begin in earnest to make sure that people are not disappointed.
