Local woman Margie McColgan, Ardmore, Muff is nominated by her daughter Maria in the Derry Journal’s ‘Mum of the Year’ competition. Having known Margie and her family for a number of years, I can only say that she really is the pillar of the community. Margie dedicates so much of her time to local sport and both she and her husband Vincie have been truly inspirational in the lives of all the local children. Her daughter Maria says that ‘my Mum is the hardest worker I know. With 4 kids she got her Diploma and then her Degree. She juggles 4 daughters, 2 grand daughters, a grandson, husband (who is no doubt the biggest juggle!), full-time work and two volunteering jobs and gives everyone she’s involved with 100% focus. She’s the best!’
